three-legged screaming thing, part two.

Long morning and afternoon printing. Good. Tired now. Covered in ink. Intaglio muscles sore. More printing (and teaching) tomorrow. I'll take some pictures of the actual prints too. (I can't help myself...I am more interested in documenting my tarletons and piles of ink.)

Unintentional muppet-y colors. Well, maybe a little intentional. And picture me in pink gloves and pink corduroy pants.

Really.

What am I printing? I'm down to the wire working on my edition for the Varied Edition Portfolio for the Dirty Printmakers of America's "States of the State" project. (Whew, I'm not even sure I followed that....) I'm very excited about my prints, and even more excited to be in a VARIED edition portfolio.

Hoopla!

three-legged screaming thing.

I woke up at 4:30 this morning. I don't know why that happens, but I'm running with it. Running up to Northridge to do some printing, and probably some grading, too. I have a million students this semester, so the work has piled up.

And by the way, where did October go? I have had a lot on my plate the past couple of weeks, and I have stayed sane by regular doses of the Muppet Show.

And THIS is one of my favorite bits, for a lot of reasons that I can not get into this early in the morning, before coffee. Why do you think I like it so much?

the lovers, the dreamers and you.

This is a mediocre picture of a perfect rainbow. The only way I could have got the full arch in frame was if I had stood in the middle of a very busy street...but still, it was a lovely lovely time.

Tag!

I've been very slow to reply to Daraart's "tag". Here's the scoop:

1. Link to your tagger and post these rules on your blog.
2. Share 5 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 5 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

me me me:

1. Besides blue typewriters, I have been known to collect, (or accumulate) doorknobs, snailshells, broken watches, pretty handkerchiefs, thimbles, buttons, and many other things.

2. I love Science Fiction. Star Wars. Star Trek. And I'm always up for a Twilight Zone marathon. I am fascinated by time-travel.

3. If it had occurred to me in my youth, I think I would have considered puppetry as a major/career. This occurred to me when I was working on my MFA at West Virginia University, which had a puppetry program. Check out Bob Baker's Marionettes and Muppet Wiki, which has been eating my time in recent days.

4. "Millions of People Happy" is a quote from the original Muppet Movie. You should watch it.

5. I didn't put up my own Christmas tree this season. However, a while ago I bought a darling Yeti ornament on Etsy from Cheryl A. Smith. This little guy was the mascot on my brother and my holiday road-trip. And here's a picture of him hanging from the rear-view mirror:

I am tagging these darling folks:

Affectionate Poking

I've been needle-felting. Last night and today has been all about poking obsessively at colorful little bits of wool. It's like creating muppets.

I make a lot of things that have yet to appear on my Etsy store. This includes felted things, shrinky-dinks, books, and other things that don't fit conveniently on my scanner. This month I intend on taking the time and mustering the enthusiasm to photograph some of these "non-scanner-friendly" pieces.
