I haven't told you about...

...the book that I made for the Art House's most recent Sketchbook Project. This book is on tour at the moment, but eventually will be a part of the Brooklyn Art Library in New York. (So you'll be able to go visit it, and I believe my Wisdom Teeth book is still kickin' around there as well. If not, I have no idea where it is.)

Here are some more crumby photos:

The theme given to me was "Danger, Danger."

Many many holes drilled through the pages...

All the sketchbook pages tied closed...

And in the center, a small sculptural book with points.

There's plenty more I could say about this piece, but I'd rather hear what you think.
My little book, (along with many, many others) will be at Art and Shelter Gallery in Los Angeles, April 10 and 11.

The needles present an interesting dichotomy (intended or not). On one hand, you have this really amazing and versatile tool that is used to make books and on the other hand, you have a potential weapon that most often draws blood. It can aid in both the construction and deconstruction of the book. To put it in the middle of the book bridges both the literal sides/covers of the book and the dichotomy that is the Tool. It exists in-between while existing on extremes.

This is what graduate school has done to me.

It is a lovely book, Michelle.
